McCain Most Likely to Trigger a Third Party

Earlier this week, I asked RedStaters which '08 candidate was most likely to trigger a third party. The results:

Which of these candidates would be most likely to trigger a serious third party?

· Sen. John McCain 53%
· Mayor Rudy Giuliani 20%
· Gov. Mitt Romney 3%
· Sen. George Allen 1%
· None 21%

Votes: 64
Results | Other Polls

That's interesting, because RedStaters are staunchly pro-life, yet they believe that McCain would most likely trigger a third party mutiny.

Visceral disdain to McCain of many conservatives for his media pandering and love-fest with liberal senators. Has proven to most of us that he cannot be trusted.

Rudy is well known to be away from the base on the key moral issues.

Only 3% for Romney . . . even though he's Mormon . . . pretty interesting. I must say that's very encouraging for Romney's potential once he's a household name like McCain, Giuliani, or Clinton.
