Tod Lindberg Joins the Clueless Brigade

It's pretty easy to tell who's been bought these days. Is the Washington Times falling into this category? First there was this bit of Kool-Aid imbibement for McCain.

This bit of denial from Tod Lindberg's column today perfectly encapsulates the clueless anti-Rudyism of the Beltway:

Notwithstanding a recent Gallup Poll that gave former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani an edge among Republicans, Sen. John McCain is the Republican front-runner. In the first place, that's because he clearly wants the job and is working to lock up key endorsements, political operations and funding. Mr. Giuliani, meanwhile, has yet to give a clear signal that he is really running.
Lindberg would be well advised grab a cup of coffee and read his Rudy clips from the last month, because he's obviously missed stuff like this. Or this. Or this. Or this.

I don't expect conservative outlets to give Rudy a free pass. But, in the interests of giving conservatives a chance to nominate one of their own, they need to allow the field to become a free fire zone. Or else they'll be stuck with a nominee who's the worst of all worlds, John McCain.
