Ken Mehlman to Join the Giuliani Campaign?

Over the last day or so, there's been a trickle of Google traffic with the keywords "Mehlman" and "Giuliani." Now I know why.

Apparently, on Chris Matthews's show yesterday, Kathleen Parker speculated that Ken Mehlman would join the Giuliani camp after his current term as RNC Chairman, according to Daniel McGivergan at the Weekly Standard.

If true, it would turn the race upside down overnight and immediately end all the carping about the "staff primary." At the same time, I wouldn't bet the house on it yet. This seems like a rather odd way for it to come out. And I wouldn't put it past one of the rival camps to float the rumor when they knew Mehlman would be neutral or go somewhere else, making the end result appear like a major loss for Giuliani.

So, we'll see. I'm not putting too much stock in this.

Giuliani seems to have forgotten that 911 happened under a republican administration and that it was the republicans that have made us less safe by wasting lives and resources in an unnecessary war. Focusing your efforts and fighting only the fights that need to be fought is not waving a white flag but a formula for winning the real war on terror. His recent statement show Giuliani would continue the failed approaches of the Bush administration. We've had enough of that already! Giuliani, with that stance you are unfit to lead America.

Giuliani has not forgotten that the first attack on teh World Trade Center, as well as teh attack on the USS Cole took place during the Clinton administration. Noe has he forgotten that it was Bill Clinto who allowed Ben Laden to slip away providing him teh opportunity tplan and execute 0/11.
Democrats need to stop trying to rewrite history.

The debate tonight reveals that Giuliani must do more than say he can lead despite his family history. The country wants to know that he has solid personal and family values - it needs to be addressed, not sidestepped as irrelevant. He has the answers - people need to hear them.
