Giuliani warns of ‘new 9/11′ if Dems win

Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001.

But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped.

The Quotes:

“If any Republican is elected president - - and I think obviously I would be the best at this - - we will remain on offense and will anticipate what (the terrorists) will do and try to stop them before they do it,” Giuliani said.

“But the question is how long will it take and how many casualties will we have?” Giuliani said. “If we are on defense (with a Democratic president,) we will have more losses and it will go on longer.”

“The Democrats do not understand the full nature and scope of the terrorist war against us.”

“America will (be) safer with a Republican president.”

“This war ends when they stop coming here to kill us!” Giuliani said. “Never ever again will this country ever be on defense waiting for (terrorists) to attack us if I have anything to say about it. And make no mistake, the Democrats want to put us back on defense!”

Giuliani said terrorists “hate us and not because of anything bad we have done; it has nothing to do with Israel and Palestine. They hate us for the freedoms we have and the freedoms we want to share with the world.”

Giuliani continued: “The freedoms we have are in conflict with the perverted, maniacal interpretation of their religion.” He said Americans would fight for “freedom for women, the freedom of elections, freedom of religion, and the freedom of our economy.”

Addressing the terrorists directly, Giuliani said: “We are not giving that up and you are not going to take it from us!”

“They were at war with us before we realized it, going back to 90s with all the Americans killed by the PLO and Hezbollah and Hamas,” he said. “They came here and killed us in 1993 (with the first attack on New York’s World Trade Center killing six people) and we didn’t get it. We didn’t get it that this was a war. Then Sept. 11, 2001 happened and we got it.”

After Rudy’s delivered line of “We are not giving that up and you are not going to take it from us!” the crowd assembled at the New Hampshire Rockingham County Lincoln Day Dinner thundered its approval.

Flap awaits the Democrat response.

How about it Harry or Hillary? Barack?

Oh, yeah, almost forgot……Flap agrees with every quote.

Serve it up to the Dims, Rudy!

These are amazing comments coming from the guy who was in charge when 911 occurred. In fact republicans held both the presidency and the mayorlty of NYC. How can you say we will be safer with republicans in power? Many people died while you were at the healm!

Aren't you the mayor who decided to place the command center inside a well-known terrorist target, the WTC? Aren't you the partner of a law firm that lobbies on behalf of CITGO, the state controlled oil company of Venezuala, a known obstacle in the war on terror?

What really frightens me, Mr. Giuliani, is your use of the fear card in a lame attempt to gain votes.

Any candidate who cannot give the American people more credit than that doesn't deserve my vote.

So long, Rudy!

If the command center was in Brooklyn, and there was some sort of communication problem, people would have critized that. Interesting how folks seem to think the potential collapse of the towers should have been obvious!

All Giuliani was saying with these remarks is he suspects America would be safer with a GOP president than a democrat president. Is this really so controversial from a GOP candidate running for president? Or do the squeals of protest from those on the left inspire one to thoughts of "Methinks thou dost protest too much."

BTW, I've had y'all blogrolled at PA For Hizzoner since my blog's inception. Since I recently got a mention on OpinionJournal, and have hence officially joined the pundocracy, y'all think you could return the favor? I know I could use the traffic from the Grandaddies of all RudyBloggers.

This is a great blog, I'm so glad that you are inviting this feedback and creating this kind of forum.

I live in Weston Massachusetts, an extremely affluent town with a lot of CEOs, etc. who live here. These are all people who have always had a voice in politics -- I just hope your campaign can give people who are less fortunate a voice as well.
