Rudy Giuliani Watch: Rudy - “America Will Be Safer with a Republican President”

Giuliani warns of ‘new 9/11′ if Dems win

Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001.

But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped.

The Quotes:

“If any Republican is elected president - - and I think obviously I would be the best at this - - we will remain on offense and will anticipate what (the terrorists) will do and try to stop them before they do it,” Giuliani said.

“But the question is how long will it take and how many casualties will we have?” Giuliani said. “If we are on defense (with a Democratic president,) we will have more losses and it will go on longer.”

“The Democrats do not understand the full nature and scope of the terrorist war against us.”

“America will (be) safer with a Republican president.”

“This war ends when they stop coming here to kill us!” Giuliani said. “Never ever again will this country ever be on defense waiting for (terrorists) to attack us if I have anything to say about it. And make no mistake, the Democrats want to put us back on defense!”

Giuliani said terrorists “hate us and not because of anything bad we have done; it has nothing to do with Israel and Palestine. They hate us for the freedoms we have and the freedoms we want to share with the world.”

Giuliani continued: “The freedoms we have are in conflict with the perverted, maniacal interpretation of their religion.” He said Americans would fight for “freedom for women, the freedom of elections, freedom of religion, and the freedom of our economy.”

Addressing the terrorists directly, Giuliani said: “We are not giving that up and you are not going to take it from us!”

“They were at war with us before we realized it, going back to 90s with all the Americans killed by the PLO and Hezbollah and Hamas,” he said. “They came here and killed us in 1993 (with the first attack on New York’s World Trade Center killing six people) and we didn’t get it. We didn’t get it that this was a war. Then Sept. 11, 2001 happened and we got it.”

After Rudy’s delivered line of “We are not giving that up and you are not going to take it from us!” the crowd assembled at the New Hampshire Rockingham County Lincoln Day Dinner thundered its approval.

Flap awaits the Democrat response.

How about it Harry or Hillary? Barack?

Oh, yeah, almost forgot……Flap agrees with every quote.

Serve it up to the Dims, Rudy!

Harris Interactive: Rudy Giuliani Leads John McCain By More Than 2-to-1 In Race for Republican Nomination

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is now the front runner by a wide margin in the race for the Republican nomination for the 2008 presidential election, even though the first primary elections will not take place until February 2008. Giuliani leads Senator John McCain by fully 39 percent to 18 percent among those who think they will vote in the Republican primaries or caucuses. Former Governor Mitt Romney (14%) and former Senator (and movie and TV star) Fred Thompson (13%) are not very far behind McCain. The only other candidate with more than two percent of Republican preferences is former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (9%).

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Rudy is Selling Competence, Not Ideology

Cross Posted from the FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog

Republican presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani hands back an autographed campaign poster to the crowd after a rally at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, April 3, 2007.

Politico: Rudy Giuliani Is Delighted To Oblige

Rudy Giuliani will hold your baby, hug your dog, autograph your T-shirt and blow you a kiss. All in the space of 15 minutes.
I watch him do these things as he makes his way down Market Street in Charleston’s famed Historic District, which on this bright and warm spring day is packed with tourists.

They call his name — “Rudy! Rudy! Over here, Rudy!” — and take his picture and, though often lacking both paper and pen (he will provide both), they ask for his autograph.

He is glad to oblige. He is delighted to oblige. Thus far in the 2008 presidential race, Giuliani has opened up a clear enthusiasm gap. He actually seems to enjoy campaigning. (Even if he is faking it, most of the other candidates aren’t even bothering to do that.)

Roger Simon is absolutely correct.

Flap has covered and videoed Rudy twice in California public campaign events and his enthusiasm is contagious. He WANTS to be the PEOPLE”S PRESIDENT.

Flap has seen many campaigns and politicians. He has seen the phoneys, the plastic candidates who are out for themselves. This is NOT Rudy.

Look at these videos taken in Iowa by Flap’s friend Kavon Nikrad over at race42008.com

And finally:

Would you say that Rudy knows how to press the flesh and campaign among the people? Would you say these Iowa folks are enthusiastic for his candidacy?

Yes, on both.

Giuliani is selling competence, not ideology. He ran America’s largest city for eight years, and now he is ready to run America. That is his message.

Indeed he is.

Giuliani drops to one knee on the sidewalk and hugs a mixed collie named Maya as her owner snaps a picture of the two of them.

Then a young woman comes up to Giuliani and asks him to autograph the T-shirt she is wearing. Giuliani turns her around and signs the back of it. (He is no fool.)

Larry Khert, 36, of Suffolk County, Long Island; his wife, Marsha; and their three children, Larry III, Jake and Paige, stand on Market Street and watch Giuliani pass by.

“He is great,” says Khert, a registered Republican. “I don’t think the Democrats have anybody to run against him. He is really good in a crisis, and we are kind of in a crisis, aren’t we?”

But do you think he is a real conservative? I ask him.

“I don’t think we are looking for a real conservative Republican president,” Khert says. “We got one now. And how is that working out?”

Stay tuned for the Giuliani campaign to come to your state. But, arrive early - there will be a crowd.

Giuliani Notes: Rudy Reports $15 Million in First Quarter Receipts

Cross Posted from the FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog

giulianioctober4aweb

Giuliani Reports Over $15 Million in Receipts for First Quarter, Raises More Than $10 Million in Primary Funds During March Alone

The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee today reported more than $15 million in receipts for the primary during the first quarter. The Committee raised nearly $14 million in primary election funds with over $11 million cash on hand, the vast majority of which is primary money. More than $10 million in primary funds was raised in March alone, highlighting a very healthy fundraising pace. Including the money raised at the one event in December, the Committee has close to $17 million in primary receipts.

Giuliani Campaign Manager Mike DuHaime said, “We are thrilled by the response to Mayor Giuliani’s optimistic vision, experienced leadership and proven record of results. Considering our late start, we are very pleased by the pace raised in March and see it as a positive indication of what’s to come.”

*******

The result will lag behind McCain (Rudy beats McCain in an updated total) and Romney.

The question is: Will Rudy be able to capitalize on his poll standings?

There is hope with $10 million in receipts during March - torrid pace.

Rudy has the Mo…..

But, the Giuliani campaign will have to do better.

Update:

The Mitt Romney campaign is reporting $23 million in total receipts.

Update #2

The McCain campaign is reporting $12.5 million in receipts:

During the first quarter of 2007, John McCain 2008 campaign received nearly 60,000 contributions from all 50 states, averaging $200 per contribution. The McCain campaign will report over $12.5 million in contributions for the first quarter.

Campaign Manager Terry Nelson said, “Although we are pleased with the organization we’ve built and polls show us strongly positioned in key primary states, we had hoped to do better in first quarter fundraising. We are already in the process of taking the necessary steps to ensure fundraising success moving forward.” Nelson added, “Fundraising in the first quarter is no more important than fundraising throughout the entire primary election campaign.”

Giuliani Notes: Rudy Wins New Jersey GOP Straw Poll

Cross Posted from the FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog

giulianioctober4aweb

Middlesex GOP backs Guiliani, picks slates for state, county offices

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani got 67 percent of the vote today in a straw poll of 14 potential Republican presidential candidates conducted by the Middlesex County Republican Organization.

Guiliani got 151 votes from ballots cast by 224 GOP party workers and officials who gathered in Edison for the annual convention to decide who gets the party line in the June primary.

County Chairman Joseph Leo said the straw poll was an attempt to gauge the party’s preference in next year’s presidential campaign. U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) placed second with 22 votes and Massachusettes Gov. Mitt Romney was third with 14 votes. The other candidates each got a handful of votes.

The race for New Jersey’s GOP Presidential delegates appears to be over, if this is any indication.

And with New Jersey holding its Presidential Primary election on Super Duper Tuesday, February 5th, it may be another state that solidifies Rudy’s nomination on this date.
